Granby, Colo. — The Grand County Colorado Tourism Board (GCCTB) has partnered with the Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) to develop a custom Do Grand Right campaign, a locally focused extension of the statewide Do Colorado Right initiative. Do Colorado Right is an award-winning destination stewardship campaign that educates visitors and residents on ways to travel safely and responsibly throughout the state. The campaign delivers messaging around topics such as fire prevention, trash mitigation, backcountry safety, and sustainable travel in a fun and engaging way that encourages responsible behavior without lecturing visitors.
Do Grand Right was developed as part of GCCTB’s participation in the Destination Development Mentor Program. Through the program, GCCTB gathered input from community members and key stakeholders to identify priority visitor education messaging for Grand County and surrounding public lands. The campaign encourages visitors to understand what it means to visit Grand County and to explore its outdoor spaces and communities responsibly and respectfully. The initiative focuses on seven key topics, with an emphasis on preparation and respect for natural resources, wildlife, and the county’s small-town culture.
To support the launch of this new campaign, Grand County has developed a dedicated webpage and toolkit that provide clear, practical guidance for visitors, residents, and businesses. These resources help reinforce consistent messaging across the community and encourage shared responsibility in protecting Grand County’s landscapes and way of life.
“Do Grand Right reflects the values of our communities and the pride we take in caring for our land, wildlife, and small-town heritage,” said Jennifer Brown, President of the Grand County Colorado Tourism Board. “By working together with our partners and residents, we are helping visitors understand how to enjoy Grand County responsibly so future generations can continue to experience everything that makes this place special.”
“Colorado’s commitment to stewardship is at the core of the Do Colorado Right campaign, supporting destinations in promoting responsible tourism that benefits our economy, residents, and natural resources,” said Timothy Wolfe, Director of the Colorado Tourism Office. “By working alongside our partners to amplify these messages, we’re helping ensure Colorado remains a place where both visitors and locals can thrive.”
Grand County is one of 26 communities across the state leveraging Do Colorado Right campaigns to educate visitors and balance quality of life for residents with the visitor experience while safeguarding Colorado’s natural environment, cultural heritage, and vibrant communities.
