Mount Craig / Mount Baldy

Mount Craig, also known as “Mount Baldy” due to its uncovered peak, sits on the shores of Grand Lake and reaches 12,007 feet in elevation. The reflection of Mount Craig in the state’s largest natural lake is a sight to behold.

If you are willing to hike to “Mount Baldy”, you will earn some of the best views on Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake. Along your journey to the top, you will see the headwaters of the Colorado River and Grand Lake, as well as various pristine alpine lakes that run along the base of the mountain.

Another great way to take in the beauty of Mount Craig is on the water. Take a canoe or kayak out on the lake for blissful views of Mount Craig overhead. This distinctive peak is just another gem to see Grand County.
