County/Town History

The Territory of Colorado established Grand County in February 1874, taking its name from Grand Lake and Grand River (now known as the Colorado River); therefore becoming a county two years before Colorado became an official state.

Cozens Ranch Museum and Stage Shop

Cozens Ranch Museum and Stage Shop brings to life pioneer times of the late 1800s at the first homestead of the Fraser Valley.

Emily Warner Field Aviation Museum

The Emily Warner Field Aviation Museum opened in July 2015. Located in a room of the former Rocky Mountain Airways airline terminal of Granby/Grand County Airport, the museum’s displays, photographs and artifacts tell the fascinating story of flying in Grand County. One exhibit in the small, free museum is the Granby Airport Pioneers Wall of Fame.

Moffat Road Railroad Museum

Visit the Moffat Road Railroad Museum in Granby, Colorado for a unique and popular museum featuring 1905 Passenger Car, the 1915 era railroad hand-cart shed from Hot Sulphur Springs, and a 1923 all wood, red UP caboose.

Pioneer Village Museum
