Shadowcliff, in partnership with the Grand Lake Creative District, invites you to an event featuring artists from the Shadowcliff Artist Residency. Join us on Friday, September 11, at 7:30 PM, at the Grand Lake Community House.
For as long as people have gathered at Shadowcliff, it has offered an environment that broadens people’s creative horizons by allowing for serious encounter and reflection. In 1972, Warren Rempel, one of Shadowcliff’s founders, wrote:
“The majesty of the mountains seems to draw people into both structured self-reflection and unstructured searching for deeper values.”
That has been true of Shadowcliff for more than fifty years, and it is one of the reasons we chose to bring artists here for unstructured time to rest, reflect, research, and make.
This year, we welcome five nationally recognized artists working across dance, photography, poetry, music, and visual art. Each will offer a window into their practice—a reading, a performance, a conversation, an artist talk. Their work has occupied museums, galleries, and stages across the country. For one evening, they will share their work with Grand Lake in the intimacy of the Grand Lake Community House, followed by an opportunity for you to meet them and ask about their work.
This event is open to the community, including Grand Lake residents, community partners, and guests.
The 2026 Shadowcliff Artist Residency was supported, in part, by a grant from the Teazey Foundation and a Colorado Creates Grant, made possible through funding from Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) partnership with the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA).
