In this beginner-friendly papermaking class, students will learn foundational techniques for creating handmade paper. Participants will be guided step-by-step through the process, from preparing pulp to forming sheets. A variety of fibers will be available for students to experiment with. Optional inclusions like dried flowers, fabric, pulp dye, and various materials will be available to add to the paper. No prior experience is required, students will be encouraged to explore their creativity through handcrafted paper in a supportive setting. This course provides a solid introduction to essential papermaking skills that the participants can continue to build on. Students will leave with a collection of unique, self-made paper perfect for art, journaling, or gift-giving and an appreciation for the traditional craft of papermaking.
