Through August 30: Disney’s Frozen: The Broadway Musical (Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre) This Broadway adaptation of Disney’s beloved film features dazzling special effects and unforgettable songs like “Let It Go.” Nominated for several Tony Awards, including Best Musical, it brings the magic of Disney closer than ever. June 20-August 29: Guys & Dolls (Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre) Welcome to the bustling streets of 1950s New York City in Guys and Dolls, a musical comedy classic since its release. With music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, this show features iconic tunes like “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat.” Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical in 1951, Guys and Dolls captures the charm of its era while following the adventures of gamblers and showgirls as love and luck collide. June 28, 2-3 p.m.: Discover New Zealand: Land, People, Water & Environmental Decisions (Grand County Library District) Join us for an unforgettable afternoon with Grand Lake resident Pierre Glynn as he shares a visually rich and thought-provoking travelogue about New Zealand. Wednesdays, July 2 through Sept. 3: Concerts in the Park (Grand Arts Council) Every Wednesday July 2 through September 3, gather in the Grand Lake Town Park (1025 Grand Ave.) for a free concert, starting at 5 p.m. Get more details at www.grandartscouncil.com.
July 4: Fourth of July Celebration: Dinner, Music & Fireworks (Shadowcliff Mountain Lodge) Join us at Shadowcliff Mountain Lodge for an evening of community, friendship and festivity as we celebrate the 4th of July. Enjoy dinner and dessert served at 6:30 p.m., followed by a music showcase from 8-9 p.m. featuring local talent sharing their musical gifts. Then, settle in around the fire on the Shadowcliff Point for the best fireworks view in town, with the show kicking off around 9 p.m. All are welcome – come for the food, stay for the fun, and celebrate under the stars with us. July 9, 12 p.m.: Color Our World – Geography of Planet Earth With Dino O’Dell (Grand County Library District) Hosted at Juniper Library at Grand Lake (316 Garfield St.), this journey takes the all-ages audience across all seven continents, exploring history, sports, animals, food and weather through the lens of geography. July 12, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Flint Knapping 101: Crafting Stone Tools & Arrowheads (Rocky Mountain Folk School) In this hands-on workshop, Tyson Arnold will guide participants through the ancient art of flint knapping, a practice dating back over 100,000 years. Learn how early people crafted stone tools and arrowheads that shaped civilizations and sustained communities. An archaeology display showcasing real artifacts, stone tools and points from various eras of North American prehistory will also be set up. August 17, 5:30 p.m.: 8th Annual Community Picnic (Grand Lake Area Historical Society) Join friends and neighbors at the community picnic, hosted by Grand Lake Area Historical Society at Cottage Court Museum (729 Lake Ave). There will be lots of homemade side dishes and desserts to go with the main dish. Music and beverages are provided, as well. Cost is $15 for adults and $5 for kids 10 and under. August 29, 4-7 p.m.: Gourd Art – Raku (Rocky Mountain Folk School) Quickly create the look of raku on a hardshell gourd. During this easy hands-on class, expert instructors will help you recreate the look of a raku vase using common materials. No experience is necessary, and all materials will be supplied. August 31: 27th Annual Tombstone Tales, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. (Grand Arts Council) Learn some Grand Lake history as you visit the Grand Lake Cemetery for the 27th Annual Tombstone Tales. This year's theme is Restaurants: Their People and Places. Tickets are $15 for adults, and tours are offered every 20 minutes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Park at the Gateway Inn parking lot and take a shuttle from there (there is no public parking at the cemetery). September 25-28, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day: Wooden Paddleboard Building (Rocky Mountain Wooden Boat School) Join the Rocky Mountain Wooden Boat School at Arapahoe Valley Ranch to build your own wooden paddleboard. September 26, 7 p.m.: Shadowcliff Artist Residence: Artist Talks & Performances (Shadowcliff Mountain Lodge) Shadowcliff Mountain Lodge invites you to a free public event highlighting the work of the 2025 cohort of nationally recognized artists participating in its artist residency program. Join us for an evening of performances and conversation as these artists share their work and reflect on their time in Grand Lake. The free event will be held at the Grand Lake Community House.
