Karen Fletcher is a local painter working in acrylic, oil and gouache. Her choice of subjects is varied, ranging from mountain and desert landscapes to wildlife and horses. In her work, Karen strives to capture the sense of a place, the spirit and personality of an animal, the beauty of light and shadow.

She splits her easel time between her Tabernash studio and the great outdoors in Grand County and beyond. Karen feels lucky to have studied with Scott Christensen, Tim Deibler, Judd Mercer, Dianna Shyne and Jed Dorsey.

Outside of the studio, she enjoys Nordic skiing, mountain biking, waterskiing, hiking and trying to grow whatever the chipmunks won't eat during our very short Rocky Mountain summers!
