OVERVIEW

Planning for your wedding is an exciting and somewhat daunting endeavor. There are so many decisions to be made, a budget to consider and making it all fit together can take a lot of work. Your photography will last you a lifetime and is one of the biggest decisions when planning. Below you will find a list of some of frequently asked questions to help you get a feel for Caroline Colvin Photography style and approach to wedding photography.

How would you describe your style?

I like to think of my wedding work as storytelling. I want to take your moments, emotions and details and capture them creatively and honestly. When I present your photos to you, my hope is that they represent your day exactly how you remember it.

How many photos will we receive?

There are a lot of factors that determine the final number of photos you will receive. If I have a second photographer and one location, I typically delivery 100 photos per hour of shooting.

Do you have insurance?

I am absolutely insured. I also carry permits for the public spaces where I shoot. I guess I’m kind of a rule follower.

What is a typical timeline?

I usually arrive a few hours before the ceremony to capture “getting ready photos” and all of your special details. If you choose do a first look, the “formal” bride and groom and bridal party portraits typically take place before the ceremony as well. Family portraits usually take place immediately following the ceremony. Apart from formal portrait time, I prefer to let the events of your day to happen organically and capture them in a documentary style. Feel free to contact me to see a sample photography timeline.

What is in your bag?

I shoot with Canon 5Ds and all L series lenses. It all started with my Canon rebel film camera that my parents gifted me when I graduated from high school. Thank you, Andre Agassi.

Can I have or see all of the unedited photos you took at our wedding?

I do not ever offer my unedited images. This is an industry standard. When you pay for me to photograph your wedding, part of that service includes culling the images and professional editing. If you have specific needs, feel free to contact me so we can talk about it.

What is your typical wedding package?

Most of my clients invest in the 8 hour package, with a second photographer, an engagement session and a 10×10 album.

Do you travel?

I love to travel and would love to hear about your destination wedding plans. If you are getting married in a “bucket list” location, I may even be willing to cover all travel expenses. Please inquire!!!

Do you shoot elopements?

Heck yeah! Contact me to see some of my elopement work. I’m always happy to help you plan your elopement or create a custom package to meet your needs.

How long before we receive our photos?

I typically complete my wedding galleries within four weeks. If I need more time, I pick up the phone to let you know.

What if you get sick or injured on our wedding day?

I have a great network of extremely talented photographers in Colorado who I would turn to step in for me. This has never happened, but back up plans are always important when working weddings.

What is your backup system for our photos?

Right after any shoot, I immediately back up the photos to a hard drive and also keep my photos on my memory cards until your photos are safely delivered.  I also hang onto your photos for one year after your wedding date (but I would encourage you to backup your photos as well).

We’d like to book you, what’s the next step?

Amazing! I’m thrilled! If you have not already, please complete the contact form below. I will then get you an agreement and invoice, once we have agreed on the right package for your day. A 50% retainer holds your wedding date. After that you can check “find a photographer” off your list. Let’s plan our next consultation at your favorite brewery or coffee shop!
