Grand County, Colorado – July 30, 2025 – The magic of fall – crisp mountain air, a mountain landscape painted in breathtaking shades of gold, orange and red, and unparalleled adventures free of huge crowds – is unparalleled in Grand County, Colo. Here are just a few ways to have a “Grand” time in Grand County this October.

Autumn Adventure Amidst Golden Splendor

  • Scenic Drives: Turn your car windshield into a canvas of color with a scenic drive through Grand County. Popular routes include:
    • Colorado River Headwaters Scenic & Historic Byway: with stunning views of the Colorado River
    • Muddy & Rabbit Ears Passes: passes through big-sky ranchland before climbing to the Continental Divide (twice!)
    • Trough Road: 24.4 picturesque miles of partially paved road
  • Biking: Immerse yourself in the beauty of fall by biking through the fall foliage. Fraser West Trail features flat and flowing cruises, as well as descents through golden-hued meadows and forests. The Idlewild Trail System is a loop for bikers who love singletrack, boardwalks and creek crossings. St. Louis Creek Trail in Fraser is a great intro to Grand County biking for families.
  • Wildlife Viewing: It’s common in Grand County to hear male elk bugling through crisp mornings and tranquil evenings of fall. It’s also possible to see mule deer and moose making their way through the colorful aspen groves. Please keep a safe distance and avoid disturbing the animals.

  • October 31, 4-6 p.m.: Trick or Treat Main Street in Granby: Calling all goblins, ghouls, and ghosts! Get ready for a howling good time at Trick or Treat Main Street where kids of all ages can trick-or-treat at businesses along Agate Avenue and at the Granby Information Center lot.
