Thunder Gourds are a unique musical interpretation of gourd art. Tap the hanging spring below the gourd and the sound of thunder echoes into the room. In this class you will learn the key elements of thunder gourd construction including wood burning, carving, and painting. Your instructors, Karen Smith and Linda Troute, who have a combined 10 years of experience in gourd art, will guide you through the process of creating your thunder gourd. All required materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring any of your own embellishments to incorporate into your gourd design. Come join us for a fun time creating something pleasing to your ears as well as your eyes!
