Updates & Alerts
The Grand County Colorado Tourism Board recognizes that travelers might be concerned about wildfires and other issues that affect travel in the area. The travel industry’s guiding principle is to seek and heed the most up-to-date expert guidance, and we urge the traveling public to do the same.
Fire Restrictions
We urge residents and visitors to help prevent wildfires in Colorado by reviewing and following the Grand County fire restrictions and regulations.
Timed-Entry System at Rocky Mountain National Park
Rocky Mountain National Park will implement a timed entry reservation system during certain hours of the day, now through mid-October. This system applies to all areas of the park.
There are two different timed entry options to choose from: Timed Entry or Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road. Both reservation options allow park visitors to enter Rocky Mountain National Park within 2-hour windows of time during the day. Reservations are only available on Recreation.gov.
There are a few key ways that the 2025 timed entry system will be different from past years. These include:
- Timed entry reservations for most areas of RMNP will be in place.
- Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road Road reservations will continue.
- 40 percent of available timed entry reservations are released on Recreation.gov the night before a chosen arrival date. These will be available beginning at 7 p.m. MDT.
Park Roads
Be prepared for varying conditions at different elevations. Road conditions and weather can vary greatly throughout the year. Remember to slow down and keep your distance from other vehicles. Keep an eye out for wildlife crossing roads. Due to weather and adverse conditions, roads in Rocky Mountain National Park may close at any time. Refer to National Parks Service for more information on park roads at Rocky Mountain National Park.
