Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Grand Lake’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is a beloved holiday tradition that brings the community together to celebrate the start of the festive season. Held in the heart of town, the event features the ceremonial lighting of Grand Lake’s twin pine trees, planted in honor of longtime residents Louis and Gladys Heckert. Visitors can enjoy Christmas carols, free hot cocoa & cookies, wood-burning fire pits to keep warm, and of course a visit with Santa and his reindeer!

This event embodies the warmth and charm of Grand Lake, creating a truly unforgettable experience to kick off the holiday season. And don’t miss the annual Grand Arts Council Holiday Craft Bazaar held next door during the day before this event, plus holiday shopping and dining on the boardwalk, making for a full day of festive holiday fun!
